Ridgeway Apps Launches Budget Tracker for Freelancers

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 23, 2026 — Ridgeway Apps today launched Ridgeway Budget, a free iPhone and Android app that automatically sets aside income tax from every client payment a freelancer receives. The app links to a bank account or payment processor, identifies incoming client payments, and moves a set percentage into a separate tax bucket before the money can be spent.

Freelancers choose their own set-aside rate or let the app estimate one from their state and filing status. Ridgeway Budget also projects quarterly estimated tax dates, tracks deductible expenses by category and exports a year-end summary for a tax preparer.

"Most freelancers do not fail at taxes because they are careless. They fail because the money was already spent before the bill arrived," said founder Priya Nair, who built the app after six years of freelance design work. "Moving the tax money on the day you get paid is the only fix that actually holds."

The app is free to download and use with unlimited client payments. Ridgeway Premium, at $4.99 a month, adds multiple bank accounts, invoice reminders, custom tax categories and CSV export. Premium is optional, and the company said it will not charge for features that were previously free.

Ridgeway Budget is available now on the App Store and Google Play and requires iOS 16 or Android 11 or later. A version for small teams is planned for early 2027.
